Biography

Rupert Barshop is a data and research scientist currently serving as the Data Control Specialist at the Tulane Center for Sport. Rupert assists in the research and collection of data for the Center for Sport, including programming related to the NFL PCF Healthy Body and Mind Screening, The Trust (powered by the NFLPA) Brain and Body / Milestone Wellness Assessment, and the Veterans Brain Health Center at Tulane University Medical Center. 

Rupert was first introduced to his love of statistics through his sports fandom and his fictional hero, Hari Seldon (creator of the hypothetical science of probabilistic prediction of the future, “psychohistory”). Later, this passion was integrated with his professional interest in health science during his studies towards his master’s degree in public health from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Over the course of his professional career, Rupert has co-authored six peer-reviewed journal articles, and has won an award presenting his data at the Southern Regional Meeting of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation.
