Biography

Andrew Fields, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Tulane Center for Sport. Andrew contributes to the Center’s research initiatives focused on the long-term health of former professional athletes through the Player Care Foundation and other Center for Sport programs. His role includes data analysis, manuscript development, and collaborative research projects involving retired NFL players.
Originally from small-town Nebraska, Andrew earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama. His research focuses on cardiovascular physiology, heart rate variability, aerobic fitness assessment, and physiological monitoring. A former collegiate distance runner and lifelong athlete, Andrew’s interests in human performance continue in his personal life through cycling, strength training, and volunteer coaching.
