Tulane Sports Law Society has expanded on the success of the 2018 Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium for this year's event: Tulane Law School Presents: An Emerging Sports Law Landscape sponsored by Tulane Sports Law, Women in Law, Black Law School Association, and LALIANSA. These organizations have combined forces to build a "Women & Diversity in Sports Law" initiative at Tulane Law School.
The 2019 symposium includes a panel discussion with a diverse group of professional women discussing their strengths, weaknesses, stereotypes, and enthusiasm for working in sports. The purpose of the symposium is to bridge the gap of minorities, not only in the legal field, but also in the sports law field.
The panel will last approximately 90 minutes, and will be followed by a cocktail reception and crawfish boil.
Panelists include:
Karin Nelsen, Vice President, Legal and Social Impact with the Minnesota Vikings
Krista Hiner, Partner at ESG Law (Esports)
Mackenzie Goepel, Associate Counsel with the San Jose Sharks
Kirsten Gros, Manager of Football Administration with the Atlanta Falcons
Lesli Harris, Chief of Staff at Loyola University
Charline Gipson, Co-founder and Partner at Davillier Law Group LLC
Erin Banks, Associate Director of NCAA Compliance at Tulane
