AGENDA

3rd Annual Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium

Tulane Sports Law Society is hosting its 3rd Annual Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium virtually on May 11th at 5:30pm CT.   This online event is invitation only, and is hosted by Tulane Sports Law Society, rescheduled from March.

The speakers list, subject to change, includes:

Vicky Neumeyer (Senior VP and General Counsel of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans)

Karin Nelsen (Vice President of Legal and Social Impact for the Minnesota Vikings)

Shauna DiGiovanni (Associate General Counsel and Football Coordinator at Roc Nation Sports)

3rd Annual Pro Basketball Negotiation Competition - Registration Deadline

Similar to our highly successful Football Negotiation and Baseball Arbitration Competitions, this competition will be a simulated Free Agency negotiation of a real player and will use current CBA information.

Competitors will submit a written component before the negotiations and will be judged by prominent members of sports law and the NBA industry.

13th Annual International Baseball Arbitration Competition - Registration Deadline

The Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition, run by the Tulane Sports Law Society, is a simulated salary arbitration competition modeled closely on the procedures used by Major League Baseball (MLB). Like most law school moot court competitions, TIBAC’s main goal is to provide participants with the opportunity to sharpen their oral and written advocacy skills. However, the competition is unique in that it allows law students to sharpen these skills within the specialized context of MLB's salary arbitration proceedings.

Sports Lawyers Association Conference

Each year, the Sports Lawyers Association hosts a conference dedicated to the sports law industry. Tulane students may attend the conference for free. In addition to learning more about the complex legal issues impacting professional and amateur athletics and networking with industry professionals, sports law students have the opportunity to meet and interact with Tulane law alums in the sports law field at the annual Tulane Sports Law Alumni Reception held in the first evening of the SLA conference. The conference also offers CLE credits for alumni.
